Achievements:

  • There is a considerable rise in Net Domestic Product, savings and investments.

  • Failures:
  • Inspite of planning, poverty exists at a massive scale in India (21% according to the Tendulkar Committee estimates).
  • Number of jobs created was inadequate to meet the needs of the rising population, which led to an increase in unemployment.
  • Inequality of income has not been reduced.
  • Inflation has been high most of the times in India.
