This demand was accepted readily by the British under the Morley Minto Reforms of 1909. This demand, however, was accepted by the Congress under the Lucknow Pact of 1916.

• Delhi Proposal, on the other hand, was 4 proposals made by the Muslim League that were to be included in the draft Constitution. These 4 proposals were presented to Congress in 1927, which were accepted in the Madras session of Congress, headed by M. A. Ansari.

• Communal Award came under the 3rd Round Table Conference of 1932. Untill then, Muslims, Sikh and Christians were already given minority status and separate electorate. Under Communal Award, this was extended to Depressed Classes, as well.
